Georgios Triantafyllou holds a Diploma in Civil Engineering with specialization in Structural Engineering from Democritus University of Thrace (DUTH) in Greece, and an MSc degree in Reduction of Seismic Risk (ROSE-CivRisk) jointly offered from the University School for Advanced Studies in Pavia, IUSS, and the University of Pavia. His MSc research was focused on the seismic risk assessment of single buildings with consideration of the vertical component of ground motion.
After his graduation, he worked as a Catastrophe risk modeler in the private sector, where his work was mainly focused on the development of earthquake and wind vulnerability models. His research interests include ground motion record selection and seismic hazard-related topics.
