Biography
PhD candidate in Biomolecular Sciences and Biotechnology.
I graduated with honors in Biological Sciences, bachelor’s degree, from Università degli Studi di Perugia (L-13). During mi second and third year I have carried out my internship at the laboratory of clinical analyses Galeno s.r.l, where I was charged with microbial and biochemical clinical analyses. During this first internship I wrote my work of thesis entitled “Impact of HPV on males’ infertility”. Then I moved to Università di Pavia to follow the course of Laurea Magistralis in “Molecular Biology and Genetics” (LM-6) from which I graduated with honors. I’ve performed my internship at the Biocristallography laboratory of Professor Andrea Mattevi at the department of Biology and Biotechnologies. My thesis, entitled “Enzymatic and biophysical characterization of NADPH oxidases: bulding a platform for drug discovery”, was about the biochemical and biophysical characterization of two membrane proteins: NOX4 and NOX1, involved in the synthesis of reactive oxygen species as main product.
My PhD project, supervised by Professor Cristina Travelli, at the department of Drug Sciences, focuses on the in vitro and in vivo study of the extracellular NAMPT (Nicotinamide phosphoribosyltransferase) in colitis and in the characterization of its phosphorylation sites.
