Final Examination Sessions for SBB and NCFM Doctoral Programs in April

For doctoral candidates of the 36th cycle in the SBB (Biological Sciences and Biotechnology) and NCFM (Cognitive Neuroscience and Philosophy of Mind) programs, two final examination sessions are scheduled for April, at IUSS - Sala Del Camino, Palazzo del Broletto.

The first session concerns the SBB doctoral program and will take place on April 11th at 10:00 AM.

The judging committee will consist of Prof. Sara Epis from the University of Milan, Dr. Francesca Magnani from the University of Pavia, and Prof. Leonardo Pisani from the University of Bari Aldo Moro.

The examination program will include presentations of the following theses:

  • Jonatan Caroli: "Investigating mechanisms of drug activity and chromatin assemblies involving lysine 4 specific demethylases"

  • Giulia Mancini: "Molecular characterization of salivary proteins of Aedes albopictus involved in blood feeding and host immune responses"

  • Aureliano Zana: "Small molecule therapeutics targeting fibroblast activation protein for oncological applications".

The second session pertains to the NCFM doctoral program and will take place on April 23rd at 3:30 PM.

The judging committee will comprise Prof. Elisabetta Sacchi from the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, Prof. Gianfranco Soldati from the University of Fribourg, and Dr. Luca Zanetti from the IUSS Graduate School.

The final examination program will include the presentation of the following thesis:

  • Bruno Cortesi: “The argument from revelation against physicalism”
