Project Title: Minimally Invasive multi-Sensor systems for CELL monitoring in bioreactors

Project Acronym: MISCELL

Scientific Coordinator:  Prof.ssa Annalisa Bonfiglio - https://www.iusspavia.it/it/rubrica/annalisa-bonfiglio

CUP: I13C24000460006

Description: Studying the behavior of complex cellular systems in vitro is crucial for a variety of biomedical applications.

Bioreactors are biocompatible devices used in cell and tissue culture for biomedical research, the development of cell therapies, and the production of artificial organs.

Quantitative monitoring of the cellular environment is essential for assessing the state of cells and their effect on the surrounding environment, especially under the influence of specific substances.

The goal of this project is to develop sensor systems for monitoring cellular behavior.

The research results of the MISCELL project represent an advancement over existing technologies in cell biology, offering for the first time the possibility of performing non-invasive, real-time measurements of various chemical/physical cellular parameters.

Funding Institution: European Commission
