Project Title: Supporting Termination Of stereotyPies in patients with RETT syndrome by advanced ambient intelligence

Project Acronym: STOPme

Scientific Coordinator:  Prof.ssa Annalisa Bonfiglio - https://www.iusspavia.it/it/rubrica/annalisa-bonfiglio

CUP: I13C24000260006

Description: Supporting patients with cognitive impairment requires effective and imperceptible monitoring systems.

The STOPme project focuses on Rett syndrome, a rare neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by severe motor and cognitive impairment, including the onset of stereotypies and cardiorespiratory impairment.

STOPme aims to monitor the patient's psychomotor arousal in real time using a wearable multisensory sensing system that uses textile and skin sensors.

The project extends beyond the development of a single device, developing the concept of a multilevel interactive environment and integrating the wearable system's functions with home automation, exploring its feasibility and market prospects.

STOPme can easily be extended to other neurodegenerative and psychiatric disorders.

Funding Institution: European Commission
