Biography
PhD candidate in Biomolecular Sciences and Biotechnology.
Marco Lunghi graduated in Biotechnology (L2) in 2020 at the University of Pavia with an experimental thesis entitled: " Methods for the extraction and processing of silk fibroin for the development of ex vivo models of platelet production ", Supervisor Prof. C.A. Di Buduo. In 2022 he obtained the Master's Degree in Medical and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology (LM-9) with honors, discussing a thesis entitled: " Silk biomaterial and 3D flow chamber for mimicking bone marrow architecture and function ex vivo”, supervisor Prof. A. Balduini. During these years ML has acquired skills in the preparation of 2D and 3D cell cultures using three-dimensional models of the bone marrow to reproduce the biogenesis of blood platelets. He also developed 3D printing skills to create a series of 3D structures supporting cell function.
Since October 2022, ML is a PhD student in Biomolecular Sciences and Biotechnology at the IUSS in the laboratory of Prof. A. Balduini (Department of Molecular Medicine, University of Pavia) studying the mechanisms of platelet production.
