4 positions, of which:
- n. 2 positions with scholarship funded by IUSS on the following topic: “Clinical and experimental cognitive neuroscience”. Projects focus on understanding the nature, organization, and neural processes underlying different aspects of cognitive functioning. This is achieved through behavioural, neurophysiological, neurostimulation, and/or neuroimaging methods in healthy individuals as well as in populations affected by neurological and psychiatric conditions. Core research topics include memory, language, executive functions, decision-making, social cognition, and nutritional neuroscience with a focus on experimental and clinical neuroscience, encompassing the theoretical basis of cognitive dysfunctions, as well as the clinical implications and rehabilitative options of disorders affecting cognitive functions.
- n. 1 position with scholarship funded by University of Pavia on the following topic “Mapping the mind: how spatial and conceptual codes shape cognitive representations”.
This project is embedded in the ERC-funded project OutOfSpace, which investigates how human knowledge emerges from the interaction between spatial, perceptual and linguistic representations. By combining behavioural experiments, computational modelling (distributional semantics and vision-language models), neurostimulation and neuroimaging techniques (e.g., TMS and EEG), the project aims to disentangle the contributions of visual and linguistic experience to conceptual knowledge. The candidate will contribute to advancing our understanding of how semantic memory is structured and how different representational formats are integrated in the brain.
- n. 1 position with scholarship funded by University of Pavia on the following topic “Mind in action: cognitive processes across brain and behavior”.
Test schedule
The results about the evaluation process will be published on the IUSS website http://www.iusspavia.it.
The interviews will be carried out at the IUSS Marelli building or online, via Zoom.
The date is 08/07/2026 at 12:00 CEST.
